Raymond T F Cheung is Lee Man-Chiu endowed professor in neuroscience, professor of neurology at the Department of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, and director of acute stroke services, Hong Kong West Cluster Hospitals. He is formerly assistant dean of Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. He is honorary consultant neurologist of Queen Mary Hospital and Tung Wah Hospital.
 
Professor Cheung studied medicine at the University of Hong Kong and obtained his doctor of philosophy degree at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He started his neurology training at the Department of Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong, and finished his neurology training at the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences, University Hospital, London, Canada.
 
He is a fellow of the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh, Glasgow and London, as well as the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, American Academy of Medicine, European Stroke Organization, Royal Society of Medicine, Hong Kong College of Physicians and Hong Kong Academy of Medicine.
 
Professor Cheung has edited or co-edited five books and authored >140 papers, 25 book chapters and >260 abstracts. He is program director of the Specialty Board in Neurology, Hong Kong College of Physicians. Professor Cheung is past president of the Hong Kong Neurological Society, president of the Hong Kong Stroke Society, vice chairman of the Hong Kong Brain Foundation and council member of the Hong Kong Pain Society. He is a member of several professional and scientific committees, including the Executive Committee of the Asian Headache Foundation, the Membership Committee of the World Federation of Neurology, the Stroke Advisory Board, and the International Brain Research Organization Committee for Clinical/Basic Science Links Program. He is also an honorary advisor of a number of community organizations.
 
He is a regular reviewer of 46 journals, including Annals of Neurology, Neurology and Stroke. He is also a member of the editorial board of 12 journals, including Stroke, Journal of Pineal Research, Chinese Journal of Neurology, Reviews on
Recent Clinical Trials, Doctor and MIMS Neurology & Psychiatry Guide. His research interest is in cerebrovascular diseases and headache.

Professor Cheung is on the editorial board of The Primary Care Clinic.
